Desalination

Maximum Water Recovery. Minimum Energy. Zero Compromise.

Technology for the integration and retrofitting of existing desalination plants based on MED and MSF, or for creating entirely new capacity in new projects. More water from the same feed. Less brine discharged into the environment.

MOST ADVANCED DESALINATION TECHNOLOGIES

NET Group of Companies delivers advanced thermal and membrane desalination systems, including full Zero Liquid Discharge solutions, engineered for maximum water recovery, lowest energy intensity and optimized CAPEX/OPEX performance.

We design and execute systems ranging from compact modular units to full industrial-scale installations, tailored for industrial, municipal, power generation, and agricultural applications — particularly in water-stressed and high-salinity regions.

thermal desalination

CODECO® – The Next Generation of Thermal Desalination

CODECO® is the world’s only patented low-temperature multi-effect thermal desalination technology operating at significantly reduced brine temperatures (typically 12–46°C).

CODECO® is patented solution being simply the next generation of thermal desalination. It does not exclude or compete with conventional technologies. Instead, CODECO® supports thermal desalination plants by enhancing efficiency and maximizing water production to the highest possible level.

CODECO® is specifically designed for integration with thermal and membrane desalination plants that generate highly concentrated brine waste. CODECO® offers an advanced solution that maximizes water recovery from this highly concentrated brine by utilizing low-temperature waste heat or solar energy. This low-temperature technology extracts additional freshwater from the brine, further concentrating it and significantly reducing its volume.

In the face of increasing demand for drinking water and the pressure to minimize waste generated in desalination processes, it is essential to implement innovative technologies to maximize freshwater production from a unit of raw water. This approach is the most energy- and cost-efficient, as it does not interfere with existing processes but complements them to enhance the overall efficiency of water desalination in the plant.

MEMBRANE desalination

CODECO® – The Next Generation of Thermal Desalination

Our reverse osmosis technologies represent the next generation of conventional RO solutions. They are designed to increase water recovery, reduce energy consumption, and lower operating costs, including electricity costs.

Membrane desalination based on nano technology

Patented MNB-RO® technology employs conventional RO system, however its integration with the Micro-Nano Bubbles saturation significantly increases membranes lifespan extending replacement period by two times, which reduces overall OPEX. Additionally, our technology significantly increases Recovery Ratio due to any scale formation prevention during micro-implosions of Micro-Nano Bubbles on the surface of membranes.

The implementation of advanced nanotechnology has been proven in desalination systems. When dealing with highly saline water, such as seawater, we use our MNB®-UHPRO (Micro-Nano Bubbles Ultra High Pressure Reverse Osmosis) high-pressure desalination technology. These membranes, rated for 1,740 psi (120 bar), raise the practical osmotic pressure and brine concentration limit to a TDS of over 130,000 mg/l. This is 1.6 times higher than conventional RO membranes, which are rated for only 80 bar and deliver a TDS of only 80,000 mg/l.

Thanks to this, our solution can finally offer an exceptionally high reject concentration.
